Portfolio: implementation and design
To create this portfolio, I started off by sketching ideas for the layout of the website's content. I decided early on that I would use a menu bar on the left of the page, which would allow users to navigate through the different sections of the website. Using this method would allow me to expand the menu bar downwards if needed. I think that I came up with a good navigation system for the website. It is simple and easy for the user to understand and find their way around each page. The navigation is consistent across every page so there is a coherent design.

I decided on a very simple design for each page of the website, which can be seen in the current design. The website is made of two lines that divide the header, menu and the content area. Using a design like this meant that I could create it effectively using Hotglue's tools, and there would be no confusion for the user trying to navigate the page.
Portfolio
Before I began making this portfolio website in Hotglue, there were some important things I had to think about. I needed to plan the scope and the structure of the website before I could make anything. I thought about the scope of the website; how it would include image, video, audio and text in each page, and how much of these would need to be collected and added. I thought that mostly I would include images, with some extra videos for some of the moving things that I make such as for Mobile and Processing. I never planned to include huge amounts of media in the website, there is never more than five images on a page, so I did not need to design a way to organise the information, instead the images are presented when they are relevant next to the text.

Website design visualistaion
I chose a black background with white text on top to make a contrast so the text is easy to read. I have used a red colour sparingly to bring the user's focus to certain areas, such as the page that they are on on the navigation menu or a link they can click. My choice for the website's font was limited as HotGlue does not have many options, but I decided to use a simple sans serif font that would be easily readable.
